A Brief History
Started in the 1940's, W J Court and Sons produced brass and aluminium castings using traditional foundry methods for both industrial and decorative applications. The company gained a strong reputation for quality and grew to serve many different industries.
The fireplace industry became of particular interest requiring good quality castings that were polished or finished in a certain way. Quite different from the supply of straightforward castings, many of the new products required further processes like assembly, painting or smart packaging before delivery to the customer. Already having considerable casting, polishing and finishing facilities, this allowed further expansion to encompass assembly lines, powder coating and paint plants, packing areas and much more.
Today.
The company has adapted and changed but the philsophy remains the same as it did in the 40's - to create value for all customers, offer a reliable and consistent supply and to deliver a high quality product. The company is active in many areas of manufacturing and is familiar with many processes; design, casting, machining, assembly, painting, chrome plating, gold plating, polishing, powder coating, packaging. Now with three integrated manufacturing facilities in the UK and new facilities outside of the UK, COURTS employ a large workforce that all work to the exact same quality standards.
The future.
We will continue to learn and to update our methods of manufacturing in order to develop as a company
As technology progresses, alternative materials can be used either to enhance a product or to serve a purpose in it's design. COURTS actively look to source alternative materials, develop complicated assembly processes or produce new finishes. The combination of COURTS experience and the willingness to learn new techniques gives an unrivalled flexibility in the production of finished parts.
The fireplace trade is always moving towards new styles, materials and finishes. Other industrial applications might require more durable metals, higher precision or perhaps more involved product testing. As new challenges arrive, COURTS have the capacity and the expertise to accept them and to grow into the new role.
All finished products are passed through COURTS vigorous quality checks to ensure customer satisfaction.
The large Midlands warehouse holds a vast quantity of finished goods for many of the manufacturers serviced by COURTS. Goods can be held in stock for call-off deliveries.
